Key Features of the Accu-chek Aviva

The Accu-chek Aviva is small but well designed to keep a large screen and large easy to see readings. This is especially useful for those with poor sight. The glucometer is easy to use and requires only a small blood sample. This should mean less painful finger tips!

The Accu-chek Aviva uses Accuchek's latest lancets, Multiclix. The lancets are revolutionary as they are one of the safest lancets available. They are designed so that the lancet point is contained within a drum and only exposed when the device is actually used. This should dramatically decrease any chance of an accidental injury whilst using the Accu-chek Aviva and is especially useful for those who find the current single lancets fiddly and difficult to use.

Alternative site testing is another big advantage with the Accu-chek Aviva. Because of the design of the strip and the fact that the meter only requires a small amount of blood, you could take a blood sample from almost anywhere. Possibly giving your finger tips a break. The meter comes with an extension spacer to allow alternative site testing.

Please note: when blood sugar levels are changing rapidly it is recommended to test the finger tips rather then any other site. Talk to your doctor about whether alternative site testing would be appropriate for you.

One of the great features about the Accu-chek Aviva is that it can be programmed to ring up to 4 test reminder alarms. This is handy if you do have a tendency to forget when to test.
