is Insulatard Penfill? Insulatard(r) is human insulin with a long-acting effect.
Insulatard(r) is used to reduce the high blood sugar level in patients with diabetes mellitus (diabetes).
Diabetes is a disease where your body does not produce enough insulin to control the level of your blood sugar. Treatment with Insulatard(r) helps to prevent complications from your diabetes.
Insulatard(r) will start to lower your blood sugar about 11/2 hours after you inject it, and the effect will last for approximately 24 hours. Insulatard(r) is often given in combination with fast-acting insulin preparations.
What
does Insulatard Penfill contain?
The active substance is human insulin. Insulatard(r) is an isophane (NPH) human insulin suspension. Each ml contains 100 international units of human insulin. Each pre-filled pen contains 300 international units of human insulin in 3 ml suspension for injection.
The other ingredients are zinc chloride, glycerol, metacresol, phenol, disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, protamine sulfate and water for injections.

do I store Insulatard Penfill? Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date, which is stated on the InnoLet(r) label and carton after 'EXP'. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Before opening: Store in a refrigerator at 2°C - 8°C. Keep away from the cooling element. Do not freeze.
During use or when carried as a spare: Do not refrigerate or freeze. You can carry it with you and keep it at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 6 weeks.
Always keep the pen cap on your InnoLet(r) when you are not using it, in order to protect from light.
Discard the needle after each injection.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
