is Levemir Innolet? Levemir(r) is a modern insulin (insulin analogue) with a long-acting effect. Modern insulin products are improved versions of human insulin.
Levemir(r) is used to reduce the high blood sugar level in adults, adolescents and children aged 2 years and above with diabetes mellitus (diabetes).
Diabetes is a disease where your body does not produce enough insulin to control the level of your blood sugar. Levemir(r) may be used in combination with tablets for diabetes or as add-on therapy to liraglutide (Victoza(r)), which is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults. Levemir(r) can also be used with meal-related rapid acting insulin medicines.
Levemir(r) has a long and steady blood-sugar-lowering action within 3 to 4 hours after injection. Levemir(r) provides up to 24 hours of basal insulin coverage.
What
does Levemir Innolet contain?
The active substance is insulin detemir. Each ml contains 100 units of insulin detemir. Each cartridge contains 300 units of insulin detemir in 3 ml solution for injection. 1 unit insulin detemir corresponds to 1 international unit of human insulin.
The other ingredients are glycerol, phenol, metacresol, zinc acetate, disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

do I store Levemir Innolet? Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the cartridge label and carton after 'EXP'.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Always keep the cartridge in the outer carton when you are not using it in order to protect it from light. Levemir(r) must be protected from excessive heat and light.
Before opening: Levemir(r) Innolet(r) that is not being used is to be stored in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C, away from the cooling element. Do not freeze.
During use or when carried as a spare: Levemir(r) Innolet(r) that is being used or carried as a spare should not be kept in the refrigerator. You can carry it with you and keep it at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 6 weeks.
